 About CSSF

Welcome to the Chicago Public Schools Student Science Fair website.
This year's theme is
Shaping Our Future Through Science and Mathematics.
2009 is the 59th year of the Chicago Student Science Fair in Chicago.  The Fair will take place at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, from March 24th to March 29th.

This Web site is designed to assist the student in the development of a research project, an essay, or a symposium paper in the areas of science, mathematics, or technology. The information at this website was taken from 2009 science fair handbook. This information should be read carefully and thoroughly by the student and the teacher. Planning and selection of a research project, the method of developing a scientific paper, and the adherence to safety requirements are explained in depth in this handbook.

If significant progress has been made on a project, the participant may exhibit his/her project at the local school science fair. If successful, the participant may move on to a Chicago Public Schools Area Fair. From this level, the project may be chosen for exhibit at the Citywide Chicago Public Schools Student Science Fair held at the Museum of Science and Industry.   more...
